Be Righteous, Be Delivered (Psalms 34)

The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears,
And delivers them out of all their troubles.

The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit.

Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But the Lord delivers him out of them all.

Psalm 34:17-19 (NKJV)

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace.  In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

John 16:33 (NKJV)

God’s Love: He Sent His Son Jesus (Scripture)

7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

13 We know that we live in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God.  16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.

It Ain’t Over Until God Says It’s Over! (Russell Wilson’s Victory)

He must increase, but I must decrease.  (John 3:30)

If Russell Wilson isn’t an example of a Christian man who knows where his strength comes from, who his Real Boss is, I don’t know who is?     To have a Playoff NFL game start so poorly yesterday for the Seattle Seahawks, and then have the NFC Team end up winning the game is, as far as Wilson, I, and many are concerned, God’s favor at work!

Wilson is a gifted Quarterback; his faith in God is one of his core strengths.   Like another God-fearing, Christian NFL Quarterback, Cam Newton (post), I’ve featured Wilson (Ask, Seek, and Knock post) on this site before.

  • To have a zero (0) Quarterback Rating in the 1st quarter of the Sunday afternoon football game against the Green Bay Packers and then, in the last 5 minutes of regulation and Overtime, go 179 degrees and win was a sight to see.  A miracle perhaps.  Guess what?   Who better to spark a Miracle than the Lord and a God-trusting Quarterback like Russell Wilson!
  • Wilson gave credit to God and his Team in an emotional, post-game Interview:

  • The New Testament scripture (John 3:30) that led this blog can be found on Russell Wilson’s Twitter home page.

John 15:12-14 (Love)

Having just posted the 11th and 12th verses of John 15 yesterday (Complete Joy and Love), primarily because of what I’ve been feeling and observing in last week of so, I greatly appreciate this post.   Needless to say, if EVERYONE lived John 15: 11 – 14 fully, there’d be no Racism or Discrimination in our nation.   Black lives matter; all lives matter.   Do we have to wait to get to Heaven for a bias-free experience?   I hope not.   Thanks Beejai for sharing! Greg S.

This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. (John 15:12-14)

Read: Matthew 15:1-20, Mark 7:1-23, John 6:22-71

Relate: Who is the hardest person for you to love? Stop right here for a second, and think about that question. Who is it?

Does it have to do with physical appearance? Is there something about the way they look that you just can’t stand? Now, I know that pretty much each and every one of us are probably saying right now, “Of course not.” But are we really being honest with ourselves? There are riots and protests going on right now for the very reason that physical appearance is still a very real issue to far too many people…

True Worshiping: What Saith the Lord

4038068132_e652ba8e18_z_JWorster_HeartofWORSHIPJesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.   You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.

But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.   God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

John 4:21-24 (NKJV)

All nations whom You have made Shall come and worship before You, O Lord, And shall glorify Your name.    For You are great, and do wondrous things; You alone are God.

Psalm 86:9-10 (NKJV)

“Fear God,” he shouted.   “Give glory to him.   For the time has come when he will sit as judge.  Worship him who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all the springs of water.”
