While the news you hear may cause you to fear, remember this: The ultimate power belongs to God. No one else! Nothing is too hard for God. Nothing.
Omnipotent, the Lord is two other things as well: Omniscient and omnipresent. Therefore, his knowledge and presence make the ‘power in his hands’ a mighty force for you – and all his children. If he were uninformed and absence (from most places) his true power would be greatly limited, right?
This gospel classic by Hezekiah Walker and the Love Fellowship Crusade Choir conveys the assurance that all Christians benefit from. He has all ‘power in his hands’. This post seemed the perfect way to end this blog’s third anniversary Series; 66 Assurance Way was launched on the third Sunday of September 2013.
For times like these, power belongeth to God. So serve and trust the Lord for the rest of your life.
I’ll end with the words that are powerfully sung at the beginning of this Hezekiah Walker song:
Trust in the Lord at all times
Pour out your heart before Him Power belongeth to God
God has spoken once
And twice have I heard this
Power belongeth to God
Who can search His understanding
His thoughts higher than ours
All power’s in His hands
For my life He has a plan
No weapon formed, Shall prosper against us. I made it this far, by faith. My future’s brighter than my today. I’m holding on to my praise, I made it. I survived.
We made it, we survived
When the enemy came in to threaten our lives
God lifted a standard, Divine protection
No weapon formed, Shall prosper against us.
I made it this far, by faith.
My future’s brighter than my today.
I’m holding on to my praise, I made it
I’m a Survivor!! (x3)
Let’s Stand in liberty
Let’s Walk in unity
Let’s Pray continually
We made it
We made it (x3)
For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock.
There was Paul and Silas in jail, ‘loosed’ from the prison by an earthquake (Acts 16:25).
Then there was Willie Myrick in Atlanta GA (Praise in Action: Gospel-singing boy is freed). Kidnapped, he was released by kidnapper after he kept singing this Hezekiah Walker gospel song (“Every Praise”). As I stated in that post, he ‘beat the storm’:
By singing a Hezekiah Walker song (“Every Praise”) for 3 hours . . . until the kidnapper relented and released him! No Georgia troopers, no guns, just GOD! Talk about ‘a very present help in time of trouble’! (This brave boy got God to show up, and show out, in a matter of hours)
Sing praises, solve the situation. Willie did it. Paul and Silas did it. You can too! Grace, mercy, and peace to you.
“The name of the Lord is a strong tower. Just call on His name, you’ll have the victory. Consider your ways, acknowledge Him, and He’ll direct your path!”
“I Will Go in Jesus Name”.
As my 200th published post on this blog, I wanted to share again one of my favorite Gospel videos. As you can see from the verses provided above, the song is spiritually-grounded too. To God be the Glory!
