Praise Him, Praise Him (Psalm 113)

TMcGhee_705 May. 24 09.25Praise the Lord! Praise, O servants of the Lord, Praise the name of the Lord!  Blessed be the name of the Lord From this time forth and forevermore!  From the rising of the sun to its going down The Lord’s name is to be praised.

The Lord is high above all nations, His glory above the heavens.

Who is like the Lord our God, Who dwells on high,  Who humbles Himself to behold The things that are in the heavens and in the earth?

Psalm 113: 1 – 6 (NKJV)

  • The tweet above, and Instagram photo in it, by a Christian athlete inspired this post.   Derek Carr complimented Russell Wilson (“It Ain’t Over Until God Says It’s Over!” post) giving thanks, giving Praise, to God for helping the NFL Seattle Seahawks win a game they had all but lost.  The Seahawks last Sunday had, I heard this morning, a 3.9% chance of winning with 5 minutes and 13 seconds to go in the 4th Quarter.   They still won!   Gives a whole new meaning to the Lord, the assuring Lord, making a way out of no way!    Gives a whole new meaning to ‘thou art with me’ I’d say.   Wilson’s will was empowered by his Heavenly Father.
  • Thanks Derek and Russell for being willing to openly extol and praise our Savior.
  • Carr, a NFL quarterback for the Oakland Raiders, is a proud Christian (post on Sports Spectrum).  His compliment of a fellow Quarterback, his knowing the virtue of Praising the Lord, is commendable.
